Mischance And Fair Fortune

This ‘harrowing duet’ (The Globe and Mail) is based on Pyramus and
Thisbe, Ovid’s myth of two fated lovers story ends in Romeo and Juliet-like circumstances – the lovers never meet, and are united only in death. Laden with themes of missed opportunity and unfulfilled desire, this work was awarded Outstanding New Choreography and Outstanding Performance at the 2005 Dora Mavor Moore Awards. Burpee and Wild bring to life the intensity of a relationship gone awry, and their emotional depth and complicity as dance partners is of mythic proportions.

“...work that is the whole cloth, brilliantly conceived and flawlessly executed.”

- Paula Citron, The Globe and Mail
