Road Trip (2012)

This is not your average road trip. There are no cars, no drive-thrus, and there are certainly no rest areas. This trip is a journey into the minds of two women at a crossroads. A tragicomic duet about the power and resiliency of bonds forged by way of dramatic events. Mixing Bouffon (the dark clown) with theatre and contemporary dance, co-creators and performers Susie Burpee and Linnea Swan are together both wickedly dark and absurdly funny. The two have danced together for almost 20 years, and in Road Trip, they use their shared artistic history as a point of departure for an intense and intimate story of friendship. This work was awarded Outstanding Performance – Ensemble at the 2013 Dora Mavor Moor Awards.
